My colleague Brianna recommended this call to action, and it fits well with last week’s article about the health benefits of gratitude. I endorse (and implement myself) Brianna’s recommendation to periodically reach out to someone who has influenced you professionally and thank them. Maybe they are the author of a book or journal article, a professor or clinical supervisor you had, or someone who mentored you in some other way. You will make their day when you send them a letter or email sharing how they positively impacted your personal or professional life. And the cool thing? You’re going to feel awesome doing it.
