Friday 5

By December 12, 2015Friday Five

Happy Weekend!

It’s time for another Friday 5! This is where I share 5 things I’m digging on each week. Some relate to music and music therapy, and some are just straight up random (but interesting, at least in my own humble opinion…). If you would like to have these delivered conveniently to your email inbox, please click here and subscribe!

BOOK

Getting Things Done – The art of stress-free productivity.

GEAR

String Swing – I like to display some of my guitars and keep them accessible for playing. But I get nervous with them just sitting on a stand. So I hang them on the wall!

MUSIC

Skyscraper – A cover by Boyce Avenue. I like their covers because they create acoustic versions of a lot of pop songs. This is handy for music therapists because you can model your own versions off of what they do.

QUOTE I’M PONDERING

“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” Henry David Thoreau in Walden

TIP

When I’m feeling overwhelmed by my to-do list, I find it helpful to write everything on a note card. Then I flip it over and write just one of the tasks down. When I complete it, I check it off, and write one more thing down and do it. And so forth and so on. Basically it helps me focus and to take one thing at a time. If your list is especially long, try this out!

Do you enjoy the Friday 5? If so, please share with a friend and recommend that they sign up by clicking here.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend!
