The field of music therapy is growing rapidly.  As research continues and advocacy efforts persist, the public is learning more and more about the benefits of music therapy.  The field is at an interesting point, where there may be more jobs available than certified music therapists to fill them!

If you are in high school and considering a career in music therapy, it is not too early to begin investigating the American Music Therapy Association-approved degree programs across the country.

Perhaps you already have a degree in something else?  Many of the schools have equivalency and graduate programs, which provide the student with a focused curriculum that leads to an internship and board certification.
