Hi !
Thanks for reading the Friday 5 🙂 Here are 5 things I’m digging that I think you will dig, too. Have a great weekend!
Podcast I’m Listening To
Nurse Papa: The Podcast
David Metzger is a pediatric oncology nurse at UCSF, which means he’s a smart dude and my friend and my colleague. He has a book coming out soon called Nurse Papa: 16 Meditations on Parenthood from a Pediatric Oncology Nurse. His poignant reflections on parenting, sweetened with humor and wit, bring me such comfort and delight. And people – I don’t even have kids. He also gets 5 stars for production value. Give it a listen.
What I’m Reading
I’m still journeying through Man and His Symbols by Jung. Funny how an $8 paperback can provide for hours of pondering, noticing, researching, and reflecting.
What I’m Listening To
This 1985 performance from the Oakland Coliseum: Drums of Passion by Nigerian drummer/singer/teacher Babatunde Olatunji. Special intro by Grateful Dead drummer (and music therapy supporter!), Mickey Hart.
Music and Science
From the NIH Director’s Blog: Exploring the universality of human song
A Quote for Consideration
“A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It’s jolted by every pebble on the road.” -Henry Ward Beecher
Cheers!
