Happy New Year!
It’s Friday, which means I’m posting 5 things I’m digging this week. If you know someone who might enjoy something listed here, please share this post with them! You can also get these delivered straight to your email inbox by clicking here. Take care and enjoy this holiday season!
APP
Way of Life. This is a simple habit-tracking app that lets you input things you would like to do (or not do) each day or a certain number of times per week. It sends you a reminder at the same time everyday, and you simply click “yes” or “no” for each task. The app then tracks your progress and helps you monitor your success and (hopefully) achieve your goals.
GUITAR
Right now on Music Therapy Source, I’m offering a free guitar lesson: Sound Better, Work Less: Easy Harmonic Enhancements. It’s a recap from my presentation at AMTA 2015 in Kansas City, and I work through 3 basic chord progressions and add in color chords, or harmonic embellishments, to make them sound more musical. Perfect for relaxation interventions! Just plug in your email address in the bar at the top of the website!
PAY ATTENTION TO…
Social Media Advocacy Month. I’ve made my contribution, and it ended up getting quite a bit of attention. To be perfectly honest, I was a bit nervous about how it would be received. Satirical writing can be dangerous! Check it out: Why You Shouldn’t Advocate For Music Therapy
MUSIC AND MEMORY
The Music Therapy Round Table published an interview with Jennifer Geiger last month. The topic? The controversial Music and Memory program. In case you missed it: Music Therapy Round Table
SAVE TIME
What if you could watch YouTube videos faster? Sometimes our brains just want to speed things up! I’ve been using a Chrome (web browser) extension called HTML5 Video Speed Control to consume more video content, faster. You can go up to 3x faster than realtime playback speed!
Do you enjoy the Friday 5? If so, please forward to a friend and recommend that they sign up by clicking here.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend!
