When I first started this website almost a year ago, one of the first things I did was compile a list of music therapy schools with links directly to program websites. I remember being frustrated that no such list existed (to my knowledge, anyway) that provided the convenience of direct links to the individual music therapy program websites.
This list has actually proven more useful to me than I originally anticipated, and I find myself returning to it on an almost weekly basis. It has been useful in researching graduate schools, looking up faculty, and in comparing regional differences in their approach to providing an education in music therapy. So I guess the entire purpose of this post is just to serve as a reminder of this resource, and I hope you find this list of schools useful.
Have a great week!

This is great! Maybe in the future the graduate column could be separated into master’s equivalency, master’s, and doctorate. I think that could be really helpful too.
Hi Matt,
Thanks for creating this great list of music therapy schools. I wanted to let you know that Slippery Rock University (in PA) has a new website for it’s Music Therapy Program. Here is a link: http://www.sru.edu/academics/colleges/chfpa/music/Pages/MusicTherapyProgram.aspx
Thanks,

Hi Matt,
I’m a Canadian Music Therapy Intern and thought you could add these Canadian schools to your list!

Manitoba: Canadian Mennonite University BMT
Ontario: Wilfrid Laurier BMT & MMT
Quebec: Universite du Quebec a Montreal – BMT
Nova Scotia: Acadia University BMT

Thanks for the kind words, Stephanie!
Hi Matt! That’s a great list and one that I wish I had when researching graduate schools! Also, as a TWU grad, I appreciate that you correctly listed “Texas WomAN’s University”, not “Texas Women’s” as I almost always see it listed. 🙂 Have a great week!
