where do music therapists workYou may be wondering, where do music therapists work? A music therapist has a lot of options when it comes to choosing a place to work.

Personally, I’ve provided services in schools, hospitals, nursing homes, private residences, and currently, a children’s hospital. Many music therapists work in private practice, so they can pick and choose where they provide services.

In fact, that’s one of the best parts about being a music therapist – having so many options when it comes to employment settings.

Many music therapists explore a few different settings before choosing a specialty or specialties. Though not totally conclusive, I’ve compiled a list of places a music therapist might work or contract services.
