Some guitar fundamentals can be really useful therapeutically, although it’s not always obvious at first. Learning scales might seem tedious and not necessarily applicable, but they can in fact be used in a clinically effective way. Scales give us faster access to melody, and incorporating melody into your playing can support and/or replace vocals. It also creates an entirely different feel.
