It’s time for the Friday 5! I hope you’ve had a great week.
What I’m Listening To
This fun bluegrass version of The Way You Make Me Feel
When I need to record decent-sounding drums at work, I use the Roland Octapad SPD-30. I usually map it to midi drums inside Logic. So fun.
When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I write down everything I need to do on one side of a piece of paper. Then I flip it over and write down just one of those items and tackle it first. In that way, I decrease some of the overwhelm and limit my focus to one task at a time. It really helps to build momentum!
Want to sound better instantly? Change your guitar strings, you’re probably due 😉
What I’m Reading
Music Therapy With Premature Infants: Research and Developmental Interventions by Jayne Standley and Darcy Walworth. I’m brushing up for the NICU Lecture we will be hosting in San Francisco in January, which I hope you’ll attend!
I’ve been overwhelmed with joy and appreciation by those of you who have pledged support. Thank you! This is a labor of love, but there are some costs. When one more person subscribes, the costs of maintaining the email list will be completely covered! Next goal is the hosting expenses 🙂
If you love these ad-free resources and have the means to help keep it going, please consider subscribing to support this powerful community. There are 3 different levels of support, which start at about the price of a pack of guitar strings ($5/month). You can now make a one-time donation to help with costs, too! And if you have already subscribed, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I am sending good vibes and a virtual hug your way!
