New Resources for MTs

By February 9, 2010Media Morsel

There are two exciting new resources that everyone needs to check out.

The first is the American Music Therapy Association-sponsored Imagine Magazine, an online magazine about Early Childhood Music Therapy.  As per the website, “The vision of Imagine is to enhance the lives of young children and their families through music by sharing knowledge, strategies, ideas, and government related issues with colleagues around the world.”  This is a FREE publication, and it will be very beneficial for anyone working with newborns through five-year-olds.  Imagine is edited by Dr. Petra Kern,  with editorial assistance provided by Marcia Humpal and Lisa Jacobs.

Another resource to check out is Erfurt Music Resource, which is “a collection of individuals working to promote our products, services and information together.”  There is a ton of info on this site, whether you are looking for some specific instruments, searching for music therapy-related blogs, or browsing for books related to the field.  It was established and is maintained by Michelle Erfurt, of Erfurt Music Therapy and The Music Therapy Tween blog.   This is a really nice collection of information!

  • Let me be one of the first to congratulate you on your new website! As the Editor-in-Chief of Voices: A World Forum for Music Therapy, it’s really great to see some more development in the online world for music therapists. Voices will celebrate our 10th anniversary in April. And I’d say that it is about time that we had some more action in the virtual world.

I’d like to suggest that in the spirit of collaboration, you post our Voices website in your links section. Also, there are no names associated with your website. And I think that plenty of people would like to know the names behind the web pages. Who is the originator of Music Therapy Source?

Again, please accept our sincere congratulations on your new initiative.
